Title chaser Colin Edwards was the fastest man around the 3.2-mile course in Wednesday’s Silverstone test with Steve Hislop close behind.

Even Hizzy’s home advantage couldn’t overcome the Texan Tornado who stormed around in a best time of 1:49 ” 554, with the MonsterMob Ducati man less than three hundredths of a second behind in 1:49.742.

Ruben Xaus seems to have drawn a line under his recent disappointing form, posting the third best time of 1:49.789, fractionally behind Hizzy.

Fomer British and now World Superbike champion Troy Bayliss was fourth with another ex-BSB title-holder Neil Hodgson fifth.
