Foggy happy with Phillip Island test

The Foggy Petronas team completed a successful three-day test at Phillip Island, leaving boss Carl Fogarty feeling positive.

The team would not release official times, but Troy Corser was running 1:34 laps. Fogarty said, ” I knew Tory would go fast for us. It’s his home circuit and it suits his style. James has also made good progress, and it will have done him good to test before we race there in March. ”

” We still have a number of areas on the Foggy FP1 to work on, but we think we know the solutions. So we are hopeful that there is more to come and we are also working closely with Michelin. ”

The team will now move to Malaysia to test at the Sepang circuit on Friday January 24. Although there is no Malaysian round in the WSB calendar this year, it’ll be an important test in the home country of backers Petronas. Fortunately both riders seem pleased with the Phillip Island tests. Troy Corser said, ” I am feeling like part of the bike now. The handling is good, the engine is stronger and the new clutch system worked well. ” Meanwhile Haydon was also content, ” To come away 1.3 seconds down on Troy is very encouraging. We made nice steps forward and I have made big improvements in the chassis, especially at the front. ”
