Alstare 1-2 in free practice

Fujiwara Katsuaki and Stephane Chambon made it an Alstare Suzuki 1-2 as they set the fastest times in this morning’s World Supersport free practice session at Brands Hatch.

The weather conditions had improved significantly from the torrential rain on Friday leaving a dry track for the 600cc machines.

Katsuaki put in 21 laps in the 45 minute practice session to take the top spot with a best time of 1:29.541 followed by team-mate Chambon 0.056 seconds behind.

Yamaha Deutschland rider Jorg Teuchert took the third fastest time with Fabien Foret finishing the provisional front row on the Kawasaki ZX-6RR.

Teuchert’s team mate Christian Kellner took fifth 0.05 seconds behind Kellner followed by Chris Vermeulen, Pere Riba and Broc Parkes.

The highest ranking Brit was Northpoint Yamaha’s Tom Sykes in ninth with a 1:30.263 lap.

Ten Kate Honda rider Karl Muggeridge was down with the 14th fastest time of 1:30.495.
