Martin on Misano pole

Australian Steve Martin has taken pole for the third round of the World Superbike championship at Misano with a Superpole lap of 1:36.823

Martin managed to put his Ducati 999 just ahead of the factory Ducati of Regis Laconi, with Pierfrancesco Chili taking third, almost half-a-second behind the lead pair.

Chris Walker qualified in eighth place, with Leon Haslam ninth. Championship leader James Toseland did not make the top 16, and wasn’t eligible for Superpole.
