Toseland fails to make Misano Superpole.

World Superbike championship leader James Toseland has failed to make the top 16 eligible for Superpole, and will start from 20th place for tomorrow’s race at Misano

The British factory Ducati rider has struggled with set-up throughout the Friday sessions, and has failed to improve enough to make the one-lap qualifying session.

There are also surprises at the front of the grid, with Lucio Pedercini going fastest on his Ducati 998RS, followed by the Foggy Petronas FP-1 of Troy Corser. Pierfrancesco Chili is third, also on the older Ducati, with the factory 999 of Regis Laconi finishing fourth quickest.

Weather conditions have played a major part in qualifiying. After a wet session yesterday, today has seen dryer weather, but very damp patches still in places on the track.

Chris Walker has qualified in eleventh, with Leon Haslam doing well to finish in fifteenth on his first visit to the circuit. The drying conditions mean that Haslam is being forced to relearn the circuit every time the track improves.
