Gimbert in WSB for 2005

After putting in an impressive performance at the Magny Cours round of the World Superbike championship former 500GP rider Sebastien Gimbert looks set to compete the whole season in 2005.

Gimbert started the weekend on a high at Magny Cours, topping the second qualifying session. He was pushed back to fourth place on the grid after the Superpole session, but the French rider pushed his Yamaha France R1 to fourth place in both races and was the only non-Ducati rider in the top six.

Gimbert is now expected to enter the championship as a full time rider in 2005 riding a Yamaha France R1. The team currently only has the budget for one rider but if it can secure the extra funding it hopes to run Steve Martin as well.
