Laconi on pole for Imola

1 of 1

Regis Laconi has moved into pole position in the second qualifying session for the Imola round of the World Superbike championship.

The Frenchman went half a second quicker than his best time on Friday to deny Noriyuki Haga and Steve Martin. Chris Vermuelen is the first non -Ducati rider in fourth spot. Britain’s James Toseland finished the session in seventh, but it was a torrid time for both Chris Walker and Leon Haslam. Walker is currently 18th quickest behind the Kawasaki ZX-10R of Ivan Clementi, while Haslam failed to improve on his time from the Friday session. Meanwhile Andrea Mazzali is in 25th place on the MV Agusta.

Come back for live updates from Superpole to decide the positions of the top 16 at 3pm UK time.
