Hodgson starts AMA test

1 of 1

Neil Hodgson has shown early promise on day one of the Daytona tyre test which marks the start of the AMA Superbike season.

At the end of the first day of testing, the top two times belonged to the two most successful AMA riders in history, Mat Mladin and Miguel Duhamel. But Hodgson was just one second behind on his Ducati 999, on his first visit to the Daytona track in a decade. Hodgson was fifth quickest, and top Ducati. As a comparison, Ducati team-mate Eric Bostrom was over one second further down the order, behind the Yamaha R6 of Jason DiSalvo.
