Kagayama on Monza pole

Yukio Kagayama has put himself in pole position for the Monza round of the WSB championship tomorrow, Sunday May 8,2005.

Kagayama posted a time of 1:47.439 to put himself first on the grid, pipping Alstare Corona team-mate Troy Corser, who had dominated proceedings up until Superpole.

Behind the two Suzukis comes the works Ducati of Regis Laconi, the Ten Kate Hondas of Karly Muggeridge and Chris Vermeulen and the Yamaha R1 of Andrew Pitt.

Chris Walker has followed an excellent finish at the last round with a good qualifying performance to finish seventh fastest, with James Toseland in eighth.

In the Superstock 1000 class, Richard Cooper has qualified 10th on the Honda CBR1000RR, with Victor Cox 24th on his Suzuki GSX-R1000. The Supersport 600cc race has already taken place with Patrick McDougall claiming ninth for the Beowulf Motorsport team, while Barry Burrell retired before the end of the first lap.
