WSB: Corser fastest

Troy Corser has dominated the first qualifying session for the imola round of the World Superbike championship, claiming provisional pole with a time of 1:49.161.

The Australian Suzuki rider completed 21 laps, and is almost one second quicker than third placed Lorenzo Lanzi. The only rider to come close to the current pole time was Ten kate Honda rider Chris Vermeulen, who recored 1:49.280 over 20 laps.

Lanzi is riding as a replacement for works Ducati rider Regis Laconi and once again outqualified team-mate James Toseland with 1:50.007. And fourth place on the grid is currently held by the Foggy-Petronas FP1 of Steve Martin.
