Valencia: Corser fastest

WSB’s first qualifying session for racing at Valencia on Sunday has finished with Suzuki’s Troy Corser fastest.

His best of 1:34.920 was just 0.043 of a second ahead of Aussie rival Troy Bayliss (Ducati). Steve Martin completed an Aussie 1-2-3 on the Petronas FP1.

Troy Bayliss reclaimed top spot in first practice for this weekend’s Valencia WSB round with just four minutes to go.

Ruben Xaus had led and fought back to claim second spot with a 1:35.746 final lap – just 0.141 down on Bayliss.

Suzuki rider Troy Corser left it late to move up from eighth to third – 0.363 behind the Ducati-riding championship leader.

Kagayama was left fourth fastest.

Barros – who finished the session sixth fastest – crashed. We’ll bring you more on that soon.
