Ducati stick with Bayliss

1 of 1

Troy Bayliss will race for the factory Ducati squad in WSB in 2007, as confirmed in a blog post by Ducati boss Federico Minoli.

Describing the decision to retain both MotoGP star Loris Capirossi and WSB title contender Bayliss, Minoli wrote:

“Both riders are part of our family and our community. They both embody a host of traits worthy of honor and praise. They set an example that we, as a company, strive to emulate. They never give up and they never give in. They suffer in silence through the tough times and share their joy with the team and the Ducati community at large in the good times. Their commitment and loyalty are unswerving. They also understand that money is only one of the elements that bring happiness. In the championships, they may not be the ones who earn the most money, but they always enjoy the most attention, the most fun, and the most support from fans.

We’re still working on the rest of the team line-up. I’ll provide more details when we make those decisions.”

The two-year extension to his contract will see 37-year-old Bayliss stick with the team to the end of the 2008 season

Minoli also revealed a slight error when the Capirossi anouncement was translated into English as “Capirossi Resigns”, rather than the original “Capirossi Signs Again.”
