It doesn’t look like the Suzuka 8 hour endurance race is being shown on UK TV so we’ve had a dig around to find some video of the event.

A Le Mans start is a dramatic thing at the best of times but when you have early 80 bikes trying to get the hole-shot it’s pretty scary.

Colin Edwards was knocked off on the first lap but made up over 20 positions in 2 laps before his engine blew and forced him to retire permanently.

In an endurance race if you make it back to the pits you can fix the bike. This rider obviously didn’t realise quite how bad his bike was.

BSB star Ryuichi Kiyonari partnered GP rider Makoto Tamada to take fifth place.
