Bayliss takes Imola pole

Troy Bayliss has taken pole position for the penultimate round of the World Superbike champiship at Imola.

The Ducati rider was only fifth fastest in the final qualifying session but pulled it out of the bag in Superpole to set a new best lap for the circuit and take the top spot.

James Toseland took the second fastest time setting a personal best lap ahead of Andrew Pitt and Troy Corser.
