Cannot tell racers apart ?

I have just got in from the first day of WSB at Donington.

I thought it must have been me, until I heard the commentators grumbling about how difficult it is to recognise riders.

I thought that shell suit colourways were out of date but just about everybody has used them all over their bikes and helmets.

Somewhere in this blurry mess is a number – but I couldn’t see them on most bikes, which was a disappointment as I particularly wanted to have a look at some riders live.

Why not have a regulation style number, say black number on a white disc background, that has to be stuck or painted on each side of the rider’s helmet ?
