Chris Walker made a dream start to his new World Supersport career by staying the fastest rider during the three day test in Calafat, Spain.

Walker, riding the Gil Motorsport Kawasaki ZX6-R dropped his lap time from 1m29.8s on day one to 1m28.6s on day two to 1m27.5s on day three. Walker’s impressive pace saw him stay ahead of his more experienced World Supersport rivals Katsuaki Fujiwara and Gianluca Nannelli.

Walker said:

“It’s been a really good test. The second day was a bit frustrating because it was so windy, but on the third day we made some real progress. I was able to be more consistent and stay ahead of the other guys so I’m well chuffed.

“I’ve been playing around with the bike quite a lot and what I’ve noticed is that a small change seems to make a big difference. I don’t know if that’s a Supersport thing or a Kawasaki thing but I see it as a good thing because once I get my head around it, it will be good as I know what it will do. The problem at the moment is that I don’t know what I want it to do!

“At the end of the three days I’m happy, I’ve got my bar and peg position sorted and I’m comfortable on the bike. Now I just need to get my head around revving the thing so hard.
