World Supersport: Tommy Hill undergoes surgery

Tommy Hill underwent a five and a half hour operation on his broken right hip and left leg in Spain on Tuesday following his sickening crash onboard the Hannspree Altea Honda on Sunday.

Hill had only completed a handful of laps in the initial shakedown test when an electrical problem relating to the quick shifter caused the bike to cut out and high side the 22-year-old.

Speaking to MCN Tommy Hill said: “I’m still in a lot of pain even after the operation on Tuesday.

“I’ve broken bones in my hand but at the moment they’ve left that alone and focussed on my legs.

“My whole team came into see me yesterday which was nice and also Chris Walker who was at the test popped in.”
