Lausitzring World Supersport: Sebastien Gimbert fastest in free practice one

Yamaha teammates Sebastien Gimbert and David Checa were the surprise package of the opening World Supersport free practice finishing first and second.

The two GMT – 94 Yamaha men made the most of the damp conditions in which not all of the Supersport grid even ventured out on track.

Third spot went to local man and new Lightspeed Kawasaki rider Stefan Nebel.

Britain’s Tommy Hill made a steady start to his weekend by securing the tenth fastest time with Craig Jones 1.2 seconds back in 13th place.

The Ten Kate Honda men of newly crowned world champion Kenan Sofuoglu and out going champion Sebastien Charpentier chose not to ride the opening session due to the damp conditions.
