Brands Hatch World Superbikes: Karl Harris to wildcard in World Supersport

Karl Harris will be looking to rekindle his supersport riding days with a wildcard appearance at Brands Hatch World Superbikes.

The Rob Mac Racing Yamaha BSB man has landed the vacant spot in the Factory Yamaha World Supersport team after Fabien Foret injured himself in a qualifying crash at Brno last weekend.

Harris, a three-time British Supersport Champion, will partner Broc Parkes in the team for his one off ride.

And the 28-year old couldn’t be happier for the opportunity.

He said: “I’m over the moon for the opportunity, it’s been an up and down year so it’s brought my spirits back up again!

“I’m really looking forward to joining the Yamaha World Supersport Team for Brands Hatch.

“It’s great to be riding Supersport again, especially as I’ve had some success with three previous British Supersport Championship wins!”

Wilco Zeelenberg, Team Manager for the Factory Yamaha Supersport team, said having Harris in the team would be a boost for the weekend.

“We were looking for a strong British rider and Karl fits the bill.

“He’s already part of the Yamaha family so it’s great to have him in our team for the British round.

“Karl is a proven rider in Superbike and Supersport, we believe he can do good things for us at Brands Hatch.”

Foret broke two vertebrae in his off and has returned to France this week after a stint in hospital in the Czech Republic.
