World Superbikes: Max Biaggi begins rehabilitation at home

Max Biaggi has returned back to his home in Rome following his 170mph crash in race two at Phillip Island, Australia last weekend.

Biaggi sustained a broken left wrist in the spectacular crash and now faces a battle for fitness to be ready for the third round of the World Superbike championship at Valencia on April 6.

The Sterilgarda Ducati rider had his wrist put in a cast at the circuit and has been undergoing daily magnetotherapy treatment in Italy in an effort to speed up his recovery.

Max Biaggi is hoping to have his cast removed by March 25 so that he can begin intensive physiotherapy to prepare himself for the race at the technical Valencia circuit.

Coming into the Phillip Island race Biaggi was just two points behind series leader Troy Bayliss, but his crashes mean that he is now massive 52 points adrift.

One piece of good news for Max Biaggi is that Troy Bayliss will also miss the test due to his elbow injury sustained in Phillip Island which required eight stitches.
