Donington World Superbikes: Troy Corser crashes twice in first free practice

Troy Corser suffered two painful crashes during the opening Free Practice session at Donington Park World Superbikes this morning.

The 36 year old Australian completed just four laps using the new Ohlins electronically controlled suspension before suffering a crash at the final corner Goddards.

With no time to swap over components Corser went out on his second bike but crashed again at Coppice.

Corser said:

“Both times I was high sided and I came down hard on my right hand side so my hip and my leg are pretty painful. The bike is aquaplaning a lot out there and because it’s also cold we’re getting absolutely no heat into the tyres. It seems that when the rear starts to slide you can’t catch it which is how I crashed both times.”

Corser wasn’t the only casualty from the opening session, Ten Kate Honda men Ryuichi Kiyonari and Carlos Checa both crashed along with Alsater Suzuki man Max Neukirchner and Altea Honda rider Roberto Rolfo.
