Stiggy Honda men Leon Haslam and John Hopkins have completed a two day test at Brno in preparation for the next round of the championship which takes place at the Czech track on 24th to 26th July.

Despite having to deal with heavy traffic on the open to the public track day, Haslam and Hopkins managed to complete a significant number of laps and evaluate a host of new parts.

Speaking to MCN Haslam said:

“It was our first test of the year and we had a million and one things to try. We were a bit limited with what we could do because it was a track day and there were a lot of slow guys out there, but we did get some clear laps so we definitely made progress.

“I did over 100 laps, but I’d say only 12 were clear. My lap time wasn’t that good, not because of the amount of laps, more because of the condition of the track as it was really dirty. Each night it rained and that meant the grip was way down at the start of each day.

“I got into the 2m01s, which is about 1.5s off the pace. Aprilia tested there a week before us and they were doing 2m laps. I’m not so worried about the times because we’ve managed to test and learn a lot.”

The Stiggy Honda team now head to Imola for a two day test where they will continue to evaluate new parts and set-up options.
