Picture Exclusive: Melandri’s first ride on Yamaha Superbike

Marco Melandri has completed his first ever laps onboard a Superbike at Valencia this morning.

The 28 year old Italian has been on track since 10.20am riding the factory Yamaha R1 he will campaign in WSB next season.  

Melandri was joined by his team-mate Eugene Laverty who is riding the R1 for the second time having previously tested it at Magny Cours last month.
