Newly crowned British Supersport champion Sam Lowes has signed a one year deal to ride for the Parkalgar Honda team in World Supersport in 2011. The 20 year old will replace Eugene Laverty in the British run team to ride alongside team-mate Miguel Praia.

Speaking to MCN after signing his contract in Magny Cours, Lowes said:
“I’m absolutely over the moon to get this ride. I’ve had a mega year in British Supersport and feel that I’ve come on a lot as a rider. I know it’s a big step racing in WSS compared to BSS and I can’t wait to get on the bike and have a test.

“I’ve been racing a CBR600 this year and feel that this bike will be an evolution for me. The electronics will be better but I’m confident I’ll adapt to the bike well. Eugene is a really smooth rider and I feel I am too. I want to have a good winter in terms of training and make the absolute most of this opportunity.”

Lowes will get his first ride on the Parkalgar Honda at the Sunflower race the week after the final round of the British Supersport championship at Oulton Park
