BMW have told MCN that the split with team boss Davide Tardozzi is completely amicable.

Tardozzi joined the BMW Motorrad team after leaving the Xerox Ducati squad at the end of 2009 but has now left the team and is not even present at Magny Cours.

Tardozzi, who is the most successful team manager in WSB history joined the German team on a three year deal but didn’t even make it to the end of year one after parting company with the team before this weekends final round of the championship at Magny Cours.

Speaking to MCN Rainer Baumel, BMW’s Superbike Project leader said: “We have parted company and it is an amicable split on both sides. Davide was on a three year contract but there was an opportunity to break the contract at the end of each year.

“The reason he is not at the final race is that because we agreed that this would be best for both parties.”

An official announcement is expected from BMW during the weekend.
