Haslam leads charge of Brits at Donington

World Superbike comes to Donington Park this weekend for the MCN-backed European round and Brit stars Leon Haslam, Jonathan Rea, Tom Sykes and Leon Camier are determined to hit back against their rivals on home turf.

Despite his intimate knowledge of the Leicestershire circuit, Haslam is under no illusion how tough this weekend will be after his team told him Donington is BMW’s bogey track.

Haslam said: “I feel I could ride anything around Donington and get it somewhere close because I know the circuit so well. I know what I want the bike to do and that will give us an indication of the changes we need to make.

“I know that I can be fast there and I showed that in 2009 when I used a slow engine. From the first or second lap of free practice I should be fast, so that will help us get the bike up to speed.”
