Biaggi leads the way at Misano test

Max Biaggi reacted to his extreme disappointment of missing out on victory at Monza on Sunday by dominating the opening day of testing at Misano yesterday.

The reigning World Superbike champion received a ride through penalty in the second race at Monza after failing to rejoin the circuit in the correct place after overshooting the first chicane. At the time he had an advantage of over five seconds and was clearly on schedule for his first win of 2011.

After just a one day break Aprilia riders, Biaggi, Leon Camier and Noriyuki Haga along with BMW men Troy Corser and Leon Haslam made the short journey south for a two day test at the Misano circuit. The official WSB riders were also joined by Aprilia test rider Alex Hoffman and BMW’s Steve Martin.

Current series leader Carlos Checa concluded the first day of the test in second position but was still 0.4 seconds behind Biaggi.
