Jordi Torres (27) will line-up for the factory-supported Aprilia Red Devils Roma team in WSB in 2015 alongside Leon Haslam, despite having been linked strongly with the planned new GO Eleven Kawasaki WSB effort.

Torres is a two-time Spanish CEV Moto2 class champion and as recently as 2013 scored a win and two other podiums in the global Moto2 class.

Having missed the recent Jerez tests, where Michel Fabrizio rode the second Red Devils machine alongside Haslam, Torres will now test in mid-January, before heading to Australia for official Dorna tests that precede the first round at the end of February.

Said Torres, “This is an important step in my career so I’m determined and want to do my very best. I know it won’t be easy as the level in Superbike is very high, but I like to race powerful bikes and so I hope to be able to adapt quickly to my RSV-4. I’m really excited about riding it and will be counting the days until the January tests.”

He joins other GP paddock refugees heading to WSB in 2015, with Nico Terol riding for Althea Ducati and Randy De Puniet, who will now compete for Voltcom Crescent Suzuki, staring at PI in February.
