Kyle Ryde will be back on the World Supersport grid for his home round at Donington Park after signing a deal with the Schmidt MV Agusta team.

The 18-year-old was left high and dry after the shock withdrawal of the Team Ranieri Med – SC Racing sqauad but a late deal to join Nico Terol in the Hungarian Schmidt Racing outfit will see him back on the grid with an MV Agusta 675 for the rest of the season.

Ryde will make his debut for the team at Donington Park this weekend, a circuit at which he scored a surprise podium as a wildcard entry with his British Supersport team last year.

“I am really very happy to be part of the Schmidt Racing Team and to race at
Donington Park, which is my home track. For sure it will be hard because the bike and the team are new for me, but I’m sure the team will help me to be competitive right from the first practice and I think I’m lucky to debut at Donington as it’s a track I know very well and that I like.

“I’ll do my best to take advantage of the great opportunity that I have been offered and for which I want to thank the Schmidt Racing team and all my sponsors, who have made this possible.”
