WSB: Rea confident ahead of Misano

1 of 1

Jonathan Rea will be looking to extend his series lead as the Superbike World Championship resumes in Misano this weekend.

After a victory and DNF due to a tyre failure last time out at Donington Park, Rea now leads team-mate Tom Sykes by a whopping 55 points in the championship standings, but he refuses to rest upon his laurels at the midway point of the 2017 season.

After a positive test at the Italian track straight after Donington, Rea is feeling confident ahead of returning to one of just three circuits where he took double victories last season.

“After spending some time at home soaking up the Isle of Man TT vibes I’m really excited to arrive in Misano, especially after our test there a couple of weeks ago,” he said.

“Now we have a good understanding of how the bike performs in different temperatures. We are even better equipped than before to build a solid base after focusing on conserving our tyre life, and that gives me some more confidence. Misano is a circuit that means a lot to me as I took my first ever WorldSBK race there.”
