1 of 4

Triumph’s new Thruxton RS superceded the popular Thruxton R and comes with more power, less weight and an improved electronics package. We’ve already ridden the bike, so read the full 2020 Triumph Thruxton RS review right here.

Now fully Euro5 compliant, the 1200cc parallel twin has also been fettled to produce an extra 7.9bhp (now 103.5bhp). The RS weighs 6kg less than the Thruxton R and also gets higher-spec Brembo M50 radial monobloc calipers complete with 320mm floating discs.

Styling tweaks include a black powder-coated engine, cam and sprocket covers and black anodised wheels. The new bling comes at a price and the Thruxton RS starts at £13,000.

Triumph Thruxton RS teaser

Triumph released a very short teaser video announcing that they would unveil a new Thruxton RS model before fully unveiling the bike at the Eicma show in Milan.

We saw earlier in 2019 the pinnacle of what Triumph could achieve with the Thruxton in the form of the Triumph Factory Custom (TFC) version with carbon bodywork and upgrades to the brakes and suspension, so maybe we will see some of this carried over to the new model.
