MCN Fleet: Multistrada Enduro prepares for Black Desert Training

I’m heading to the Black Desert Training off-road centre in Wales next week for some one-to-one training from Dakar racers Craig Bounds and Tamsin Jones, and I can’t wait! The Ducati Multistrada Enduro has been treated to a fresh pair of dual purpose tyres in preparation. I’ve fitted Michelin’s new Anakee Wild tyres and have been using them for the past two months purely on tarmac.

Cornering on road is compromised, as to be expected from an off-road biased tyre and at speeds of 90mph and over they can begin to snake, especially when loaded with panniers and luggage. But overall they’re performing exceptionally well on the road. I’m looking forward to testing them on the rough stuff and am hoping they’ll perform better off-road.

I’ve got a long ride to Wales on tarmac so I’ll see how they fare on an extended journey, followed by a day off-roading and then another 200-mile trip home. Next stop, Wales!
