Motorcycle insurance bargains: Cagiva Mito

Motorcycle insurance costs are an important consideration for any bike buyer. That's why MCN is highlighting some of the best cheap-to-insure motorcycles out there. This time it's the Cagiva Mito 125.

Insurance group: 7
Engine: 124cc single two-stroke
Power: 31bhp
Top speed: 101mph
Weight: 129kg

Ducati-esque styling and the promise of almost 30bhp (easily) from a de-restricted motorcycle make the Cagiva Mito 125 a real object of desire for anyone on a learner motorcycle licence. And anyone with a full motorcycle licence. Plus it's only group 7 to insure.

The Cagiva Mito 125 is a small capacity two-stroke that makes loads of power that shouldn’t be entrusted to teenagers who’s idea of servicing the motorcycle is to run a rag over the headlight once a year. The handling is sharp and copes with British roads very well considering the motorcycle's lack of adjustability. The gearbox is slick, it brakes well and it’s easy to gel with the Cagiva Mito 125 around twisty roads.

A Ducati 916-style steering damper is standard on the Cagiva Mito 125 and there are comprehensive clocks including a tachometer. With a full Arrow exhaust system fitted to a Cagiva Mito 125 a possible 120mph is achievable. Terrifying, yes, but achievable with this motorcycle nevertheless.
