Husqvarna have today announced a global recall for their Vitpilen 701 and Svartpilen 701 ranges, due to possible fuel leaks.

The issue concerns all Vitpilen 701s built from 2018-onwards, as well as any 2019 and 2020 Svartpilen 701s. Also included are all Svartpilen 701 Styles produced in 2019.

In a statement released today, the Swedish firm claimed that the potential issue is being caused by an ‘unevenness in the area of the sealing surface between the tank and fuel pump as well as tank and fuel level sensor.’

Consequently, every bike’s tank will now be replaced with a revised unit with thicker walls for a greater seal.

All affected owners are currently being contacted via a letter and are being asked to contact an authorised Husqvarna road bike dealership to arrange an appointment for inspection and replacement. This will take place at no cost to the customer.
