Suzuki to celebrate 25 years of the Hayabusa and SV650 at Cadwell Park

Suzuki UK will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of both the dependable SV650 twin and ballistic Hayabusa hyperbike at Cadwell Park this coming June.

The special occasion will be marked during the firm’s weekend-long Suzuki Live event, which takes place at the undulating Lincolnshire race track from June 22-23.

Both the SV and Busa were first launched in 1999 and remain popular with riders young and old. As such, Suzuki themselves are now calling upon owners of both bikes to attend – with special parking and display areas reserved for the occasion.

The Suzuki SV650 is a legend

What’s more, there will also be a show and shine display area sponsored by Dunlop tyres, with a free pair up for grabs for the owners of the best examples at the event.

Suzuki GB marketing manager Jak Tyrrell said: “Twenty five years is a huge milestone for two motorcycling stalwarts: the SV has provided fun, affordable motorcycling for the masses since 1999, has been the first ‘big bike’ of so many riders, and still fills racing grids at club level.

“And, still, a quarter of a century later, nothing comes close to a Hayabusa. It’s very easy to overuse words like ‘icon’ or ‘legend’, but that is what the Hayabusa is.”

The displays for both bikes will form part of a vast array machinery on show – also including examples from the Air-Cooled Suzuki Club, the Kettle Club, and the Suzuki Owners Club.

There will also be track sessions taking place around the circuit, plus VIP talks from past Suzuki stars including John Reynolds. Both Dunlop and Furygan will also be hosting tech talks in the evening. There will also be test rides available on a number of new models, including the GSX-S1000GX, GSX-8R, and V-Strom 800RE.

Weekend tickets cost £15, including access to the whole paddock area and camping. Track sessions cost extra. Visit the Suzuki website for more.
