BMW S1000RR’s dream year continues

After the first test of the new BMW S1000RR, MCN chief road tester Trevor Franklin predicted it would be the weapon of choice for Superstock racers. Ten months later he’s been proved 100% right.

The S1000RR has just won the British National Superstock Championship at its first attempt, with Jon Kirkham claiming eight podium positions including four wins.

The BMW has been even more impressive on the international stage, having won the 1000 Superstock FIM Cup, with Italian Ayrton Badovini taking an unbelievable eight wins from 8 starts. This is their first international manufacturer’s bike title since World War 2.
