Former senior road tester

Born in Yorkshire and more commonly known as Chad, many people know him from the years spent as a senior road tester at MCN – Motorcycle News between 2005-2019, however, he actually started professionally testing bikes in the late 90s.

He has attended more than 400 new bike launches, covering over a million road test miles ridden on countless tracks around the world and is also an international road racer, with race wins at Oliver's Mount, podiums in New Zealand and two top ten Isle of Man TT finishes on an electric motorcycle.

Over the years he has raced a wide variety of bikes from Manx Nortons (at Goodwood Revival) to a Honda Fireblade (at the TT). And many more machines inbetween!

Chad is just as happy elbow-down on a race track as he is kicking up the mud off road..  or even restoring classic bikes. Chad has also recently restored a Ducati 900S.

He knows his way around a race track, a twisty stretch of tarmac or a motorcycle engine and now works as a road tester all over the world, writing for MCN as well as many other titles!
