Race-inspired Zero creates a buzz: Quickstrike carbon kit turns SR/F into Pikes Peak tribute model

Electric brand Zero have added race-inspired style to their top-spec SR/F model with this new limited-edition bodykit.

Called the Quickstrike it’s a restyling package of special carbon-fibre and aluminium parts which can be easily fitted to the American firm’s range-topping electric roadster.

The kit includes a carbon front mudguard and matching rear mudguard by Chinese carbon-fibre specialists Oya, a black aluminium fly screen, mirrors and lever guards by Italian firm Barracuda, who also provide aluminium swingarm spools enabling use of a rear paddock stand. Buyers will also receive a special Quickstrike bike cover.

The package is inspired by California-based Zero’s official factory-backed race bike which took part in the 2019 Pikes Peak Hillclimb – the last time motorcycles took part in the event.

Ridden by Corey West, the modified SR/F came an impressive fifth in the motorcycle category and 23rd overall. Unfortunately, the 2020 event was cancelled due to Covid-19 and motorcycles have since been banned by organisers following three fatalities since 2012.

The production SR/F is Zero’s highest-performing electric roadster. Priced from £18,990 it produces 110bhp, an even more impressive 140lb.ft of torque and has a top speed of 124mph.

The chassis, meanwhile, comprises a tubular lattice frame with quality, 43mm Showa ‘Big Piston’ forks, a Showa multi-adjustable rear shock and J-Juan radial brakes.

"When Zero launched the SR/F, the entire market shifted," says Chris Metcalfe, VP of Marketing at Zero Motorcycles. "The significance of a single motorcycle all of sudden validating an entire category of powersports is unheard of, so we wanted to make a custom package that was just as special as the bikes it was made for."

The Quickstrike kit costs £999 and is limited to 100 units, each with a numbered badge.
