BSB: Dixon: 'I'm going to Brands to make a statement'

Jake Dixon has said he’ll be out to make a statement in the final round of the 2017 MCE British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch this weekend.

After a run of form kick-started by a stunning double at Knockhill, Dixon has been the revelation of the year as he fought his way into title contention.

An incredible ride from pit-lane to fourth at Oulton Park kept his title hopes alive as the Showdown got underway, but a challenging weekend at Assen left him 54 points behind series leader Leon Haslam.

However, with 75 points still on the table, Dixon hasn’t given up on clinching the crown just yet.

“After a tough weekend at Assen our championship chances took a bit of a hit, but mathematically we can still win it,” he explained. “As this year has proven, anything is possible in BSB and we can only go into the final round of the year doing what we’ve done in every other race so far; try to win races!

“I’m going to Brands to make a statement and end my season on a high, and I’ll be putting it all on the line to try and make it happen.”
