Triumph has revealed that motorcycle battery manufacturer Dynavolt will be the title sponsor of their factory backed, official British Supersport team in 2021.

Triumph Motorcycles are making a return to the British motorcycle racing scene next year. The British manufacturer are taking advantage of the new regulations, which will allow more manufacturers with different engine configurations and capacities to enter.

Dynavolt Tech, which is based in China,produces around 15 million batteries, which are sold in over 100 countries worldwide. The brand has been involved in motorsport, at its top levels, for many years achieving a wealth of success in world championships, including Moto2 since 2012, World Superbike team and in World Supersport.

Triumph has partnered with Simon Buckmaster’s PTR Racing team for 2021, which the team now being known as Dynavolt Triumph. Buckmaster’s team is the second most successful Honda outfit in World Supersport (WSS), behind Ten Kate Racing, and has finished runner-up on three occasions.

The Supersport bike will be derived directly from the Street Triple RS and its 765cc three-cylinder engine, with fairings based on the Daytona 765 Limited Edition Moto2 model.

“2020 was our first year with Dynavolt as title sponsor for our team,” Buckmaster said. “It is really fantastic news that they are to continue to partner us in this exciting new project with such an iconic brand as Triumph. I’m looking forward to the start of the 2021 season with the Dynavolt Triumph team.”

Currently, no riders have been signed to this new project, with staggered announcements expected in the coming weeks.
