Kawasaki H2R makes UK track debut with MCN

MCN have become one of the first people in the UK to ride Kawasaki’s new supercharged H2R track-only machine on a circuit in this country, with Senior Road Tester Adam ‘Chad’ Child lapping Brands Hatch during last week’s MCE British Superbike Championship.

Adam completed a number of demo laps on the epic-sounding machine, which produces 326bhp, during Sunday’s race day program. Double race winner James Ellison was also lucky enough to get to ride the fearsome machine.

Speaking afterwards, Adam commented: “It’s great to be in front of a packed BSB crowd back on the H2R, but it’s like trying to ride a racehorse around a lift. It’s easy to ride if you short shift but you can’t really give it full power around Brands Indy; you only need third and fourth gear.”

He was joined by TV personality Charlie Boorman, who took to the track on the road going Kawasaki H2. He added: I was just worried about crashing on new tyres so took it steady, but you can really feel the supercharged power. The R version sounds amazing though!”
