Harley-Davidson give touring models new XR750-inspired Apex paintjob

Harley-Davidson has announced a new colour option for selected touring models is inspired by the brand’s racing history, particularly its XR750 in American flat track.

Called ‘Apex custom paint’, the new option, in Harley racing black and orange, features a fuel tank graphic which mimics the tank shape of the XR750, elsewhere has subtle shadows and bar and shield patterns and is available on nine models ranging from the Road King Special to the Ultra Limited at premiums from £1900 to £3100.

“Apex factory custom paint gives riders the opportunity to express the thrill of speed and competition on the bodywork of their bagger,” said Brad Richards, VP of Design and Creative Director. “This paint scheme communicates velocity and forward momentum with lines and colours inspired by Harley-Davidson competition motorcycles.”

The Apex paint is available on the following models:

• Road King Special model
• Street Glide Special model (Chrome and Black trim versions)
• Ultra Limited model (Chrome and Black trim versions)
• Road Glide Limited model (Chrome and Black trim versions)
• Road Glide Special model (Chrome and Black trim versions)
