Launch report: Ktm 990 SMT

1 of 2

The KTM 990 SMT supermoto isn’t just new for 2009, it’s an entirely new concept combining the exciting performance of a Supermoto with practical touches such as a taller screen and a fuel tank bigger than an egg cup.

MCN road tester Adam Child is currently on the SMT launch in Portugal and after a mornings ride he’s impressed with the blend of comfort and V-twin grunt.

“The 990 LC8 engine has the same tune as the standard 990SM and Superduke so has loads of power and torque.

“But the KTM has a sensible side too, it’s by far the most comfortable supermoto ever made.”
