No Honda production bike updates in Jerez

Honda has dashed hopes that its new production RCV1000R machine will get an imminent performance upgrade for the likes of Scott Redding and Nicky Hayden.
The Japanese factory’s Open class project has been criticised for lacking acceleration and top speed, with the RCV1000R not equipped with factory spec technology like pneumatic valves and a seamless shift gearbox.
Briton Redding and ex-MotoGP world champion Hayden have both called on Honda to upgrade the RCV1000R motor, and it had been rumoured that some new parts would be available for a forthcoming post race test in Jerez next week.
Not so, according to HRC boss Livio Suppo, who told MCN: “We believe the machine still has potential to do reasonably well in its current format but in Japan we are evaluating the data and analysing what could possibly be done. But there is nothing coming for the test after Jerez.”
