What’s good about the Rev’It Climate mid-layer thermal?
The Climate mid-layer is a tight fit and slips easily under my motorcycle jacket, compressing to my body. It’s exceptionally light and probably the first thermal I’ve tested that actually feels breathable. It comes with stretchable cuffs, a plush collar, a wind catcher behind the zipper, three outer and two inner pockets. It’s also a pretty stylish jacket and looks good off the bike, if a little tight. It’s also pretty handy as it rolls up and compresses easily, not taking up too much space in my luggage. Most importantly, it has kept me very warm on chilly morning commutes and is all I need with just a t-shirt underneath. It has a stretchable material and clings close to the skin, trapping warm air.
And what’s not?
The price is a bit off-putting. Nearly £180 for a thermal is right up the top end. I’ve tested thermal mid-layers for £90, which are just as warm. However, they’re nowhere near as breathable, or stylish. So the extra money for the Climate is for breathability and style – it depends how much you value that.
