Tucano Urbano Swift glove review

Published: 24 August 2017

I've been using these Tucano Urbano Swift gloves (£69.99) for eight months and in that time they've become my go-to gloves. Here's what I think.

What’s good? These gloves from stylish Italian manufacturer Tucano Urbano have been my go-to gloves since I started using them at the back end of 2016. The fleece lining is extremely comfortable and keeps my hands warm on all but the coldest of rides. The wrist is just about long enough to fit under the sleeves of my jacket, despite my unnaturally long arms. The armour on the knuckles is CE approved and there’s even D3O inserts on the palms. They even work on smart phone touch screens, which I only discovered a week ago.

What’s not? Not much really. They could do with a bit more insulation to keep my hands a little warmer in winter, but I just about managed to get by this time. There have been a couple of heavy rain showers that have beaten the Hydroscud waterproof inner membrane and when that happens they take a long time to dry out thanks to the fleece lining. The visor wipe isn’t much kop.
