LCR Lotto is here! First of its kind, tomorrow the LCR Honda team will give their fans the chance to win a life changing sum while directly supporting their team.

To celebrate the launch LCR Lotto players can also enter a draw to win a VIP day for Cal Crutchlow’s home GP at Silverstone – including paddock access, pit garage tour, hospitality service at the LCR Honda lounge, and meeting the team.

The project follows the success of sports fan fundraising initiatives in the UK such as the Arsenal Lotto, and expectations are high that Moto GP fans will be just as passionate in their support. Draws take place every Wednesday and Saturday, with an average weekly jackpot estimated at £7.5 million – and rollovers up to a staggering £26.8 million.

Like a traditional lottery with a twist, to win the jackpot fans pick 6 numbers as well as one of their favourite LCR Honda podium finishes. Each entry costs £1.50 with a substantial amount of the coupon price going directly to the LCR Honda team’s budget.

When asked how they came up with the idea of running a lotto, Team Principal Lucio Cecchinello, said: "MotoGP is one of the most competitive motorsports in the world, where the best riders and manufacturers compete against each other.

"LCR Honda, as a satellite team, aims to be competitive and battle for podium finishes despite having a much smaller budget compared to a factory team. After 20 years in the world of MotoGP, we had to think innovatively on involving our fans in raising funds for the team."

"That appetite for innovative fundraising laid the foundation for the partnership between LCR Honda and Lotto Network, who funds all cash prizes.

"This opportunity gives our fans a chance to directly contribute to the team whilst we give back to them through LCR experiences, merchandise, and cash prizes. It’s a win-win for everyone, and we are proud of being the first MotoGP team to launch such an initiative."

Lotto Network offers lotto betting, meaning players bet on the outcome of a non-UK lottery. From a player-perspective this process is very similar to a traditional lottery.

Entry to the Lotto is only available to over 18s, but is of course not just for LCR Honda fans. Anyone who likes the idea of getting trackside or winning life changing money can find out more at lcrlotto.com.

Jake List, head of operations for Lotto Network, said: “Lotteries are a historically popular fundraising initiative for sports clubs in the UK.  Combining MotoGP, the team led by Britain’s flagship rider, and Lotto Network, creates the perfect storm to supercharge this concept”.

“We are thrilled to partner with LCR Honda to launch the first lotto of its kind in the world of MotoGPTM and look forward to LCR Lotto contributing financially to the team’s success for years to come.”

LCR Lotto officially launches Saturday May 20th, with a jackpot of £14.6m, and the Silverstone VIP draw closing on Saturday 10th June. The launch of LCR Lotto coincides with the Le Mans GP, where Cal Crutchlow is again expected to push for a podium after LCR Honda’s productive start to the 2017 season.
