Suzuki’s Crescent Racing team has revealed plans for a limited-edition replica of John Reynolds’ GSX-R1000.
You can catch the full story on the new Reynolds replica GSX-R1000 in the new MCN, out April 24, but here’s a taste of what you’ll get.
*The Reynolds rep will be very close to the real thing and is expected to start from around £12,000.
*There will be a limited run of just 12 bikes and they first will be handed over at the opening of the new Crescent Suzuki Performance Centre on August 3.
* Ohlins, Brembo and Yoshimura will be supplying parts, just as they do for Reynolds, and owners will be able to decide how far up the tuning ladder they want to climb.
*There will be gains at the top end, but Crescent want to focus on giving it better bottom-end and mid-range power.
*Crescent boss Paul Denning told MCN: " It’s critical the replicas are useable, rideable and practical
Denning added: " We probably won’t go as far as the rules allow in terms of tuning the engines, as anyone who has ridden the GSX-R knows it has plenty of power. Weight will be trimmed, and it will look just like John’s, even down to the No1.
" These won’t be stock bikes with a few shiny bits added, they will be seriously uprated.
" We want to give something back to the Suzuki fans who really support us. "
There is no word on prices, but as soon as the first bike is ready, we’ll have details and pictures. You can contact Crescent on: 01202-820170.
