Husqvarna update 701 Supermoto and Enduro for 2021 as LR model dropped

Swedish firm, Husqvarna have updated their 701 Supermoto and Enduro ranges for 2021, announcing small updates to the dashboard and headlight design, a Euro5-friendly engine and a fresh price tag.

Coming in at £8999, both bikes have received a similar treatment to their Austrian siblings; the 2021 KTM 690 Enduro R and SMC R, with a new LCD dashboard tucked behind an updated front headlight unit, displaying a gear indicator and your revs.

Cradled within a steel trellis frame, the 73bhp 692.7cc single-cylinder engine, complete with slipper clutch - also shared by the KTMs - has been coupled with a reworked exhaust system to comply with Euro5 emissions rules.

Away from the thumping motor, the road-biased Supermoto gets a new Brembo monoblock four-piston front brake caliper, combined with a chunky 320mm disc. Meanwhile, the Enduro comes with the ability to disengage the ABS entirely – said to make life easier when tackling off-road.

Carried over from the old bikes are lean sensitive ABS and traction control and more, with machines available in dealers already. What isn’t available for 2021 is the Husqvarna 701 Enduro LR, complete with 25-litre fuel capacity, which has been dropped from the range after just a year.

MCN will bring you more on these bikes as soon as it becomes available.
