Dexter Marty Fifty Niner helmet review
OK so it might look a bit fancy dress, but this was my helmet of choice during the great heatwave of 2018. There are no high-tech vents, but the lack of visor means airflow isn’t exactly a problem.

Being thwacked by insects is an issue, but we’re good for airflow. It looks the business too and the finish is great. I’ve paired it with Dexter Binocle goggles (£35.99, with interchangeable smoked and clear lenses) and the combo works a treat on my yellow and black Ducati Scrambler.
The shell is fibreglass with a faux leather interior and the helmet is very light at 1000g. There are poppers for a peak and a retaining loop for goggles plus a double-D strap. It’s tested to EC 22.05 but that lightweight feel makes it feel less protective than some.
